Sweet Grass Ranch is
located in Central Wisconsin, close to Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point. The
twenty-acre ranch is home to “The Glide Ride,” Tennessee Walking Horses. The
breeding program features Pride’s Generator and Triple Threat lines through the
2001 stallion, Spirit of Jazz. Jazz’s sire, A Jazz Man, is ranked ninth in the
Outstanding Leading Sires of the breed, and Jazz’s dam is a direct daughter of
Triple Threat.
Delahny and Mike Charbonneau are building Sweet Grass
Ranch to live up to their mission – well-bred horses are raised on Sweet Grass.
Through careful selection of broodmares and maintaining high standards for get,
horses bred on Sweet Grass Ranch enhance and promote the “Ride of Your Life.”
Lessons and training are available on a limited basis. For those who are
unfamiliar with the breed, Delahny and Mike invite them to make an appointment
to visit the ranch, to see what the excitement is all about. By having horses
pastured and free to show off the gait, prospective mare owners and novices both
gain the appreciation for good breeding. Mare-care is available for live
coverage, as well as shipped semen. If you have ever been curious how the gait
is bred into the Tennessee Walking Horse, then visit Sweet Grass Ranch and see
it for yourself. Videos and photos on the stallion page will also detail the
free-moving four-beat gait.
